The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), led by its National Chairman, Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa, attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo for a second term as Governor of Anambra State.

The ceremony took place at the iconic Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka and attracted dignitaries and guests from different parts of Nigeria and beyond.

Members of the National Working Committee who accompanied the National Chairman to the event included the two National Deputy Chairmen and the six National Zonal Vice Chairmen of the party. Also present were other members of the NWC, including Mr. Ibrahim Mani, the APGA National Secretary, and Dr. Mazi Ejimofor Opara, the National Publicity Secretary, alongside several party leaders and stakeholders.

The colourful ceremony drew the presence of prominent personalities from across the country. Among the distinguished guests were the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, and former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, whose attendance reflected the national importance of the occasion.

Also present at the ceremony were elder statesmen and traditional rulers, including former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, and the revered monarch, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife. Their presence further underscored the significance of the event in Nigeria’s political and cultural landscape.

Governor Soludo arrived at the venue at exactly 11:18 a.m. in the company of top government officials and political leaders. His arrival was welcomed by enthusiastic supporters and invited guests who gathered in large numbers to witness the historic moment.

At precisely 11:50 a.m., Prof. Soludo took the oath of allegiance before proceeding to take the oath of office administered by the Chief Judge of the state. The brief but solemn exercise lasted about five minutes and formally inaugurated his second term in office.

Standing beside the governor during the oath-taking ceremony was his wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo, who supported him as he undertook the constitutional responsibility of leadership. Shortly after taking the oaths, the governor signed the official documents in the presence of the Chief Judge at about 11:55 a.m., drawing applause from the audience.

The ceremony marks the commencement of Governor Soludo’s second term in office, which will run until 2030. His first tenure witnessed significant policy initiatives and reforms aimed at strengthening governance, improving infrastructure, enhancing security, and stimulating economic growth in Anambra State.

Since assuming office as National Chairman of APGA, Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa has continued to strengthen the internal structure of the party through strategic consultations, improved coordination among party organs, and renewed engagement with stakeholders across the country. His leadership has also focused on expanding the party’s membership base and consolidating its position as a leading progressive political movement in Nigeria.

The leadership of APGA also congratulates Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his successful inauguration for a second term in office. The party expresses confidence that his administration will continue to build on the achievements of his first tenure and deliver more transformative programmes that will promote development, stability, and prosperity in Anambra State.
