The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced the successful convening of a high-level emergency meeting of its national leadership held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the Party’s National Headquarters, Katampe, Abuja.

The meeting was presided over by the National Chairman, Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa, and brought together the National Secretary, two Deputy National Chairmen, six Zonal Vice Chairmen, and thirty-one State Chairmen, including that of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The gathering highlighted the party’s determination to consolidate its internal cohesion and reposition its structures for effective participation in future electoral processes.

During the meeting, the National Chairman commended several State Chairmen for their notable successes in the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) elections across various states. Particular recognition was given to chapters in Benue, Kogi, Delta, Cross River, Bauchi, and Ondo States for securing strategic positions, thereby enhancing the party’s national visibility.

The leadership also formally introduced Chief Stanley N. Agwara as the Caretaker Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory chapter. His contributions to the party’s activities in the territory were acknowledged, with expressed confidence in his ability to further strengthen the party’s presence in the FCT.

The meeting reaffirmed APGA’s commitment to grassroots mobilisation through sustained membership drives across the country.

The leadership emphasised the importance of unity, discipline, and collective responsibility among members in achieving the party’s goals and expanding its support base nationwide.

A key aspect of the deliberations was the consideration of the amended Electoral Act and its implications for political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. The National Chairman stressed the need for strict compliance, particularly with regard to maintaining an accurate and verifiable membership register in line with legal requirements.

APGA also reiterated its leadership in innovation with the introduction of a digital membership registration system, designed to enhance transparency and efficiency. State chapters were directed to intensify the registration process and ensure full compliance with statutory provisions guiding party operations.

In a bid to strengthen its communication framework, the party approved measures to enhance its media and publicity strategy nationwide. State chapters were mandated to nominate qualified media personnel, while plans were also unveiled for nationwide radio sensitisation campaigns in major Nigerian languages to broaden public engagement.

The meeting further reviewed political developments in Osun and Ekiti States ahead of forthcoming governorship elections and received reports from Zonal Chairmen across the six geopolitical zones. Plans were also announced for zonal town hall meetings aimed at deepening grassroots interaction and assessing the performance of party structures nationwide.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his commitment to democratic governance and for ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral environment in the country. The party acknowledged the importance of such leadership in sustaining Nigeria’s democratic process.

The party, in conclusion, expressed deep appreciation to its National Leader and Governor of Anambra State, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for his visionary leadership, steadfast support, and unwavering commitment to the growth and stability of APGA, reaffirming its resolve to build a progressive and people-oriented political platform for all Nigerians.
