The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa, has greeted Nigerian workers on the occasion of this year’s International Workers’ Day. 


He commended their unwavering dedication and vital contributions to national development, noting that workers remain at the heart of Nigeria’s progress and prosperity.


Barr. Ezeokenwa emphasized that every strong nation is built on key pillars—its people, institutions, values, and most importantly, its workforce. 


According to him, the commitment and resilience demonstrated daily by Nigerian workers across all sectors continue to drive the country’s growth, even amid prevailing economic and social challenges.


“As we mark International Workers’ Day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to organised labour and all Nigerian workers,” he stated. “Across every sector, you continue to demonstrate resilience, diligence, and an unwavering commitment to duty, even in the face of challenges.”


The APGA National Chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to protecting workers’ rights and promoting policies that ensure fair working conditions. He stressed that APGA remains dedicated to advancing initiatives that enhance the welfare, dignity, and overall well-being of the Nigerian workforce, recognizing their indispensable role in nation-building.


He concluded by urging all Nigerians to continue supporting and empowering workers, noting that the nation’s prosperity is closely tied to their well-being. 


Barr. Ezeokenwa wished all workers a fulfilling celebration, saying, “Happy Workers’ Day to you all.”

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the forthcoming Osun State gubernatorial election, Prince Adesina O. Adeyemi-Doro, has paid a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, at his palace in Ile-Ife. 


The visit stressed the candidate’s commitment to engaging traditional institutions as critical partners in fostering unity, peace, and development across Osun State.


Speaking after the meeting, Prince Adeyemi-Doro described the encounter as a rare privilege and profound honour. He noted that the engagement with the revered monarch was deeply humbling and inspiring, rooted in shared values of heritage, leadership, and a collective aspiration for a greater Osun State. 


The candidate emphasized that such interactions are vital in aligning governance ambitions with the cultural and historical foundations of the people.


Prince Adeyemi-Doro expressed profound gratitude for the warm reception accorded him by the Ooni, highlighting the monarch’s fatherly prayers, royal blessings, and words of encouragement. He commended the Ooni’s enduring commitment to peace, unity, cultural pride, and the socio-economic progress of the Yoruba people, describing the monarch as a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations.


The APGA candidate further stated that he received the royal blessings with renewed resolve and determination to pursue a people-centered administration. 


According to him, the visit has strengthened his commitment to delivering a prosperous, just, inclusive, and forward-looking Osun State, driven by collective effort and visionary leadership.


Reaffirming his campaign philosophy, Prince Adeyemi-Doro stressed that Osun’s rich heritage must continue to guide its development trajectory. 


He called for unity of purpose among stakeholders, noting that with shared commitment, the state can usher in a new era of transformation anchored on “New Vision, New Energy.” He concluded with prayers for the continued preservation, wisdom, and peaceful reign of the Ooni of Ife.

He praised the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of Osun workers to the growth and development of the state.


In his Workers’ Day message, Prince Adeyemi-Doro acknowledged the critical role played by civil servants, artisans, professionals, and private sector employees in sustaining the socio-economic fabric of Osun State. He noted that despite prevailing challenges, workers have remained steadfast, demonstrating commitment and patriotism in service to the people.


The APGA candidate commended Osun workers for their perseverance and sacrifices, describing them as the backbone of governance and development. He emphasized that their daily efforts continue to drive progress in key sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public administration, thereby laying the foundation for a stronger and more prosperous state.


Looking ahead, Prince Adeyemi-Doro outlined his vision for a worker-friendly administration if elected as Governor. He pledged to prioritize prompt payment of salaries and pensions, improve working conditions, and implement policies that promote career growth, welfare, and dignity of labour. He further assured that his administration would foster an enabling environment for job creation, innovation, and entrepreneurship.


He also highlighted plans to strengthen public institutions, invest in skills development, and support small and medium enterprises as a means of expanding economic opportunities for the people of Osun State. According to him, a motivated and well-supported workforce is essential to achieving sustainable development and inclusive growth.
