APGA NATIONAL CHAIRMAN CONGRATULATES FIRST FEMALE ELECTED NBA PRESIDENT, OYINKANSOLA BADEJO-OKUSANYA (SAN), HAILS HISTORIC VICTORY

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa has congratulated the President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, on her historic election as the first female elected President and the 33rd President of the association.
Chief Ezeokenwa described the election of Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya as a landmark achievement not only for the legal profession but also for Nigeria's democratic journey, noting that her emergence further demonstrates the increasing confidence in the competence, integrity and leadership capacity of Nigerian women.
The APGA National Chairman stated that the party takes particular pride in celebrating the success of accomplished women across all sectors, stressing that inclusive leadership remains one of the core principles of the party. He maintained that Nigeria stands to benefit immensely when women are given equal opportunities to contribute to nation-building and public service.
According to Chief Ezeokenwa, APGA recently demonstrated this commitment by convening its National Women Summit themed, "Advancing Women's Inclusion in Politics and Governance." The summit brought together women leaders, political stakeholders, civil society organisations, and gender advocates from across the country to deliberate on practical strategies for increasing women's representation in governance.
Chief Ezeokenwa emphasized that the election of Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya perfectly aligns with the vision championed at the summit, as it serves as a practical demonstration that women continue to break barriers and excel when provided with equal opportunities. He expressed optimism that her tenure would inspire more women and young professionals to pursue leadership positions in both public and private institutions.
Chief Ezeokenwa wished the NBA President-elect a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence that her wealth of experience, professional excellence and commitment to justice would further strengthen the Nigerian Bar Association and deepen the rule of law, while serving as an inspiration to women and girls across Nigeria and beyond.
