APGA SOUTHWEST CONGRATULATES OBA LADOJA ON ASCENSION AS 44TH OLUBADAN

The Southwest chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, on his formal ascension to the revered throne of his forefathers as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The congratulatory message was delivered by the incumbent National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of APGA, Alhaji Suraj Owolabi, who praised the coronation ceremony held in Ibadan, Oyo State, this past Friday as a momentous and dignified event that perfectly reflected the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of the Ibadan traditional institution. 

Alhaji Owolabi stated that the ceremony was not only a celebration for Ibadanland but for the entire Yoruba race and Nigeria as a whole.

In his statement, Alhaji Owolabi described Oba Ladoja’s ascension as the culmination of a distinguished and destiny-filled journey, noting his prior service as a prominent businessman, senator, and former governor of Oyo State. He emphasized that this unique blend of extensive modern leadership experience and a deep understanding of traditional lineage makes Oba Ladoja exceptionally equipped to lead Ibadanland into a new era.

"The entire Southwest APGA family rejoices with you, Kabiyesi," Alhaji Owolabi declared. "Your life has been a testament to service and resilience, and your ascension to this throne is a divine endorsement of your dedication to the people of Ibadan and Oyo State. You are stepping into this role with a wealth of administrative acumen and a profound love for your people."

The APGA chieftain further expressed confidence that Oba Ladoja’s reign will be marked by wisdom, unity, and progressive development. He highlighted the new monarch's renowned diplomatic skills as a critical asset for fostering greater harmony among the diverse communities within Ibadanland and for bridging generational gaps between the traditional institution and the youth.

"At a time when the nation yearns for unifying figures, we believe that His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ladoja, possesses the requisite grace and wisdom to be a pillar of unity and a voice of reason. We are confident that his palace will become a centre for conflict resolution, cultural promotion, and socio-economic advocacy for his subjects," the statement continued.

Alhaji Owolabi also assured the Olubadan of Southwest APGA’s unwavering support and cooperation throughout his reign. He pledged that the party would always be a willing partner in progress, ready to support initiatives and policies that would enhance the welfare of the people of Ibadan and contribute to the overall development of Oyo State.
