The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sylvester Ezeokenwa, has greeted the government and people of Nigeria on the momentous occasion of the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

Reflecting on the significance of the day, Barrister Ezeokenwa echoed the sentiments of national pride and resilience, acknowledging the sacrifices of the nation’s founding heroes and heroines. "As we reflect on the significance of this day and our journey of nationhood since October 1, 1960, let us remember the sacrifice, devotion, and grand dream of our founding fathers for a strong, prosperous, and united Nigeria," he stated . He noted that despite profound challenges, the nation has made tremendous progress in various sectors and continues to strive for a more perfect union .

The APGA National Chairman commended the enduring spirit of Nigerians, who have weathered storms with courage and grit.

He highlighted that the story of Nigeria is one of overcoming, and the current period is no different, with a collective race against time to build critical infrastructure, improve education, and enhance healthcare for all citizens .

This spirit of resilience and development, he affirmed, is perfectly mirrored in the ongoing transformation within Anambra State under the APGA-led government.

In his address, Barrister Ezeokenwa seamlessly linked the national message of hope and progress to the upcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra State. "As we celebrate our nation's 65th year of independence, we are also on the cusp of a significant event in Anambra State. On November 8, 2025, just next month, the good people of Anambra will head to the polls to elect their leader for the next four years," he reminded the electorate. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially published the final list of candidates and campaigns are fully underway .

Using this historic occasion, the APGA Chairman passionately urged the people of Anambra to turn out en masse to vote for the incumbent Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for a second term in office. He framed the election as a critical choice between continuing on a proven path of development or stalling the transformative progress the state is witnessing. "Continuity is the key to sustainable development," he asserted, echoing the overwhelming support Governor Soludo has received from across the state .

Barrister Ezeokenwa pointed to Governor Soludo's first term as a period of disruptive development, marked by rare courage, uncommon wisdom, and an unshakable commitment to repositioning Anambra on the path of greatness . He cited the administration's record in tackling insecurity with bold reforms, restoring discipline in governance, expanding infrastructure, promoting industrialization, and prioritizing education and youth empowerment . The ongoing road constructions, transformation in healthcare delivery, and urban renewal projects were highlighted as undeniable testaments to this visionary leadership .

The Chairman's call for support is bolstered by the groundswell of endorsements Governor Soludo has received from a broad spectrum of society. This includes the influential pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, business leaders, traditional rulers, youth bodies, and elder statesmen . Notably, even chieftains of opposition parties have acknowledged Soludo's performance and pledged to mobilize support for him, a powerful testimony to his cross-partisan appeal and effective governance .

With the electioneering campaigns officially set to conclude on November 6, 2025 , Barrister Ezeokenwa called for a peaceful, issued-based process. He reminded all parties and their supporters to adhere strictly to the Electoral Act, shunning hate speech, violence, and the destruction of campaign materials . He emphasized that APGA believes in a fair contest where the will of the people prevails in a free and fair environment.

Concluding his message, the APGA National Chairman expressed unwavering confidence that the people of Anambra will make the right choice. "Let us all come out on November 8th to vote for progress. Let us vote for continuity. Let us vote for the sustained and disruptive development that Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo represents," Ezeokenwa appealed. He reassured that a vote for Soludo is a vote for the continued realization of the Solution legacy and the shared dream of a prosperous, livable, and globally competitive Anambra State.
